Hi and WELCOME! We are so happy you have found Loopy Lion Designs! We want each and every one of our supporters to know how thankful we are for you! If it weren’t for the love and support of our customers and fans – we wouldn’t be where we are today! So, thank you all so much!!

My name is Mandi and I am the digitizer here at LLD. I have been digitizing for a little over 2 years and continue to learn something new every day! My life with digitizing started back in 2014. My friend Jenny and I drove to Applique Getaway down in Dallas, Texas. I saw the list of classes and just KNEW I had to take the class taught by THE ONE AND ONLY Lyndsie Salcido of Lynnie Pinnie. She taught an overview of digitizing. After the class, I looked at Jenny and she said, “No way, I am not doing that”. I looked back at her and said, “I found my calling”. And it all began. When I got home from Texas, Mike went on the hunt for every digitizing software we could research and try. I finally settled on Generations and Little Bean Stitches on Etsy was born. In 2015, we had to undergo a name change and that is when we started Loopy Lion Designs and moved from Etsy to our own website. We are still on Etsy, but all of our sales and updates are run through www.loopyliondesigns.com.

The other side of us.

When I was little, I told my parents that when I grew up, I wanted to get married and have babies. That was my only goal. I never wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer – I just wanted a family. God has blessed me with exactly that. Mike and I have been married for a little over 13 years and we have 3 beautiful daughters: Kaelyn, Jordyn and Kynslee. We have been blessed that Mike has an amazing job and I have been able to stay home with our girls without concern of working for the last 7 years. As much as I love it, I knew that when Kynslee started Kindergarten, I would need something to keep me busy. I have completed 2 degrees in college: one where I met Mike where I got a degree in Information Technology and Web Design — and a second degree that I earned years later — Dental Assisting. But, my heart just wasn’t in either of those occupations. I wasn’t going to give up on finding my passion in life.

I have always been a crafty person. I started, much like many little girls, making bead necklaces and friendship bracelets with DMC floss. That quickly went to cross stitch and I completed my first quilt (by hand) when I was 10. I still enjoy many crafts – cross stitching, crochet, knitting, sewing, hand stamped jewelry and of course, embroidery. Digitizing allows me to utilize my comfort with technology and my passion for crafts. I really feel like I was made for this. The joy I get from making customers happy is worth every second of frustration that I have with learning new techniques.

Our girls are very busy and if I disappear for a few days, it is usually on account of playing taxi driver, nurse, homework helper, chef, housekeeper, or single mommin’ it and doing it all when Mike travels (which thankfully isn’t very often). Kaelyn made the high school volleyball team in the fall and has now made the soccer team this spring season (2017)– while also on a competitive club volleyball team. Jordyn loves gymnastics and takes lessons at a local gym. She also is playing her last session of indoor soccer and not continuing her soccer “career” – much to Mike’s dismay. Kynslee has tried gymnastics and soccer – but at 5, really doesn’t stay too attached to anything. She is itching to start soccer again so once we get our lives sorted out, I am sure she will be back on the field.

Mike has a job out of the home and then comes home to his four demanding women. He helps with homework, dinner, taxi driving and general entertaining the kids. He is the sole reason I am able to dedicate ANY TIME AT ALL to LLD, so I thank God for him each and every day. Sometimes you will see him in the group answering questions, pointing people to the website and tagging me when I don’t respond to stuff. He also continues to play soccer (has since he was 3). He also plays volleyball up at church when time allows and plays basketball once a week at church as well!

We are all silly, fun loving, light-hearted and VERY SARCASTIC. Much of that spills out into our FB Group where you can get to know us! We hope the group continues to be a place where embroidery machine users can come for advice, to vent about a frustrating project – or just plain socialization with others who share the love. We hope to continue to grow as a group and become a staple in your embroidery life. I learn so much from others in the group and I hope I can give back as well.

That is the general intro to us. I will be starting a blog with this new website – so if you want to get to know us behind the scenes – make sure to check that out!

Much Love –

Mandi, Mike and the Girls!
